Proudly changing the game
CUPRA X Football Australia.
What a journey it’s been since we teamed up with Football Australia!
As the Official Automotive Partner, CUPRA is proud to be playing our part in energising the love for the game as we get behind the men’s Subway Socceroos and women’s CommBank Matildas national teams, CommBank Pararoos and ParaMatildas, as well Australia’s national youth teams. From delivering exciting experiences at our CUPRA Garages to providing unique opportunities for players and fans alike, we’re pumped to be backing the teams in their quest for glory.
At last year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup held in Australia and New Zealand, it was the CommBank Matildas who captivated the nation with their electrifying performances and unwavering determination. They became game changers who have fuelled the excitement for a new generation of football fans. Their story is one of victories and exciting matches and we are proud to be on their journey of growing into a force to be reckoned with on the global stage.
Key to their recent successes is CUPRA ambassador, Mary Fowler. A born natural talent, Fowler made Australian football history as the youngest player to be selected for a senior national team at the age of 16 for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2019. Since then, she’s been on a roll in the CommBank Matildas’ offensive line-up and has become a true embodiment of CUPRA’s mission to challenge and embrace different. "What first spoke to me about CUPRA was their approach to originality and not trying to be all things to all people shared Fowler. “That's an attitude I associate with and how I want to be known."
With her extraordinary talent, skillful play, and fearless approach to the game, Fowler is not just a player; she is a catalyst for change who passionately shares CUPRA’s vision of redefining excellence and inspiring the next generation. And watching her become a driving force both on and off the field has been incredibly inspiring.
Equally inspiring has been fan favourite Subway Socceroos’ FIFA World Cup 2022 squad member and goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne, who helped send his team to their fifth consecutive FIFA World Cup with a heart-stopping penalty shootout save in the play-off against Peru. We're incredibly excited to have him on board as a CUPRA ambassador, and someone who shares our passion for performance and progressive attitude. “It really excites me to be part of a brand with such high ambitions and fast growth rate”, said Redmayne, feeling the thrill after getting behind the wheel of his new CUPRA Formentor.
We’re proud to be riding shotgun with Mary Fowler, Andrew Redmayne and Football Australia as they continue to inspire, break through barriers and pave the future of football in green and gold. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!
